This was the second time we were lucky enough to help this lovely family plan one of their once in a lifetime events!  We provided the decor for Genna's brother Peter and his lovely wife Erika back in September of 2011.  It was an honor that we were invited to share once again in their joy by providing the floral and decor for Genna & Wagas' wedding at the beautiful and historic Grosse Pointe Yacht Club in Grosse Pointe, Michigan.  For these two sweethearts, planning for their wedding also meant preparing for marriage and the journey of the new life together they were about to embark on. While the details were important too, planning for their marriage was undoubtedly the most important thing to Genna and Waqas, and we love that! When it came to the beautiful details, this sweet couple turned the reigns over to me to help detail everything beautifully.  I’m pretty sure the bouquet seen around the world was Genna's bouquet.  When it comes to choosing a favorite detail of their wedding–her choice (and mine!), that stunning bridal bouquet! Hello, PEONIES!  I was definitely nervous as Peonies and undoubtedly Lilacs are two of the most fragile and temperamental flowers you could choose and Genna chose them both for her bouquet!  I knew Lilacs wouldn’t be readily available on the floral market in May or if they were the quality would be terrible so I prayed that my Lilac tree would hold out for me and I wished away any down pours that would brown its blooms.  So I waited and waited and when it was time to harvest, EUREKA!!  My one hundred fifteen-year-old heirloom White Lilac Tree gave just enough flawless blooms to make this stunning bouquet!!  Talk about divine grace in this beautiful marriage!  They chose a combination of tall and low centerpieces in a lush floral palate of blush pink, cream, champagne and white.  They chose a variety of gold and glass vessels to display their floral in.  All the tables were draped in matte Champagne Sequined linens and the chairs were draped in romantic cream satin.  We accented with gold mercury glass candle holders.  It was a truly beautifully elegant setting.  Please enjoy the photos!  Thank you Genna & Waqas for once again allowing Petit Fleur Events to be a part of your special day!
